Addie, Landry and Kolby on the steps of the Saint George Temple.
I have to do most of my real shopping in Saint George which is about 45 minutes away from Cedar City. The kids and I have a deal that they get to do something fun sometime during all of the shopping. During our last visit we went to the park and on this trip we went to the Saint George Temple and the Saint George Temple visitor center. The kids LOVED the visitor center and they can't wait to go back.
Landry was in a bad mood and did not want to be a part of the picture. Kolby put him down and he started crawling along the cement. It was all fun and games until he hit the sunny part of the cement. It was about 96 degrees outside and I guess that cement in that hot of weather does not feel good on bare knees and hands. I love this picture because it was taken seconds before he started to scream because of the burning. I was too busy taking the picture to realize what he was doing. So I won't be getting the Mother of the Year award this time around.
The Saint George Temple is the first LDS temple to be built in Utah. They did not start building it first but it was the first finished. The groundbreaking was in 1871 and it was completed in 1877. It is the first LDS temple that has operated continuously. The groundbreaking for the Salt Lake City temple was in 1853 but it was not completed until 1893.
The kids had to visit the temple fountain. Who doesn't love a good fountain?

Oh the Temple is beautiful! I don't envy Landry's run in with the hot cement-ouch, poor little guy! Once they're on the ground, they go fast don't they. :)

That is an awesome vistors center. It's been ages since we've been there ~ I only had 2 kids when we went there. Great pictures.

And you thought driving into Bellingham was bad?!

Great pictures around the temple. I understand about hot sidewalks having grown up in Southern California. We literally fried an egg one time on our sidewalk. Very hot! Give a hug to the kids for me and one for yourself as well! We miss you!
