This was a fun sight to wake up to a couple of days ago. I braved the ice cold weather to go out on the deck and get a picture.
I often pick up the camera to find that Addie has been taking pictures. Here are a couple of her latest shots.
She did a good job taking some nice Halloween pictures.
I can't wait to find out what grade Tyler will get on his diorama about the long tailed weasel.
He worked so hard on the project. I did provide some inspiration for the project so I deserve a little credit for the design.
Our first canning project! I decided that Tyler and I were smart enough to figure out how to can and told him we were going to bottle salsa. It came to me that a lot of people can so it could not be that hard to figure out how to do it. We do have the internet. Plus, my husband is a Food Scientist and the Quality Control Manager at a bottling plant. Shouldn't we have an edge? Despite a few set backs we were successful. Who knew you could not can on a flat top stove? Luckily, Tyler thought of that before we started the project. The Camp Chef came through for us. I think it might be better than a stove because the heat and steam are outside. Tyler had a little panic and insisted on testing the salsas PH to insure we would not get botulism. Now I can enjoy my favorite food all year!
The first pumpkin carving of the season. We had to do this for a Halloween party.

Way to go, canner!! I hope your salsa is a year-long delicious reminder of your industry. I was not aware that a diorama was required for an advanced degree...

First of all congratulate Miss Addie for her picture taking skills. I am impressed. I am also so very impressed that you canned salsa. Who would've guessed you couldn't can salsa on a flat top stove (I still don't know why not).
I love the picture of your scenery! Braving the cold, I wish! I didn't go to play group Tuesday because I couldn't bear the thought of sweating one more day!

Ummmm... I canned on my flat stove... does that mean my stuff isn't edible??? Hmmm... I never heard that before... but again I've only canned once... :) Great pics Addie! And a mighty immpressive diorama :) Also pretty Moon!

How did you get Wierd Al to hold that diorama? Crazy. I didn't know he lived in Utah :)

I totally laughed out loud about the ph test... and then I kinda wished I could do that too :)

And you can TOTALLY can on a flat stove... it used to not be true when they first came out, but it's all good now. If the thing heats up to the right temp & pressure, then you're good!

Diorama? Is he trying to pass the third grade?? I think you should worry more about Tyler's educational experience and less about botulism. At least with botulism you die quickly--a doctorate degree with a minor in miniature structure construction? well, that sounds like a slow death to me.

Wow! That's a great diorama Tyler!! I am proud of you! I sure hope you get a 100%!

I made bottled salsa once, it was good, but I didn't dare eat too much of it...maybe I needed Tyler there to test it!! :)

Congrats on the canning! I know... if the Lamberts can do it, so can anyone!
