We visited the Pentagon - kind of. I made Sara walk around one side of the building. Visiting this site was not at the top of her list but she was a good sport. We were the only tourists that I could see. This shot was not taken at the Pentagon because they do not allow any pictures to be taken on the property. I took this from the top of Arlington Cemetery.

The Supreme Court.

The Jefferson Memorial during our Monuments by Moonlight tour.

Iwo Jima Memorial - part of the Monuments by Moonlight tour. Tyler and Sara's husband both think that the Monuments by Moonlight tour sounds romantic. Yes - you should all feel bad for Sara and I as this is very telling of our husband's romantic skills.

The graves in Arlington National Cemetery are supposed to symbolize soldiers standing at attention in a straight line.

This is part of the amphitheater at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. This tomb is guarded 24 hours a day/365 days a year. The changing of the guard takes place every half hour. The soldiers are not allowed to date, be married or watch television while they are assigned to this duty. Each assignment lasts for six months.

It was a great opportunity to be able to visit this special cemetery.

This is considered the best view of Washington DC in the entire city. It is at the Lee Plantation at the top of Arlington Cemetery. The man who designed Washington DC is buried where the marker is behind Sara. It was decided that since he designed the city he should have the right to the best view of the city he worked so hard to plan.
